Electric fan

Various kinds of electric hand fans can be used on the harp. Instead of a fan, hand held milk foamers can also be used.

Production

The fan is held to the strings of the harp. The blade of the fan hits the strings repeatedly, creating a long sustained note. The blades of the fan must be made from soft plastic so that they don't damage the strings of the harp. If a milk foamer is used, a strip of tape is attached to the foaming circle. The tape functions as the blade of the fan.

Sound

The sound depends on the material of the blades of the fan. If a milk foamer is used it is possible to experiment with different materials, such as different kinds of tape or fabric.

Notation
